Meditation for Busy People ( a.k.a win your day).

Do You have time for meditation?

Many of us are extremely busy, no doubt. Although there is one simple fact that changes everything: If the businessman Ray Dalio or TV host and entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey find time for meditation every single day, so why you can't? The point is these high performers do not have more time than you. It's just about crazy benefits you gain from the meditation practice.

Most of the people that I have mentioned practice meditation as the morning ritual. It gives powerful advantage throughout the day, so you can tackle all of this different life situations with total self-control and confidence. That is massive, calming your mind and cultivate concentration by the meditation practice every morning, build the mental toughness that you express in every life aspect. Social interactions, parenting, public speaking, decision making, creativity - become more mindful and less reactive/influenced by emotions in these aspects and you will 10x your personal development pace.

How to achieve that? Meditate.

For the skeptical part of the audience: yes, what I have just described is some practice that delivers some unbelievable results. Recall all these people of success I have mentioned - that is probably the best way to prove what I have written.

I also understand that "meditation" is enigmatic for the majority of people in western societies. I had the same feeling when I first started. "That is some crazy spiritual, non-practical exercise that requires to listen to some Indian mantras and sitting in an awkward pose" - I said that and for sure many of You have the same feeling.

The problem is, old understanding of meditation pulled straight from eastern monasteries does not fit to our busy reality at all! We need practicality, simplicity and instant results. Guys, I'm the technical manager in the marketing company, founder of the tech startup and pretty sport oriented individual. I would not even think about meditation if this requires all the awkward BS to start.

What I really want from You, is to just begin and try. If you are the growth oriented person you will me more that happy about the results gained from meditation.

Ok, so let me describe my routine which is just a 20 minutes session. To be really honest with You, this couple of minutes every morning makes my mental indestructible thought the day. Mental clarity helps in the decision-making process and increase the creativity levels. I become more aware of my emotions so they won't have any power to drive my actions. Vast of benefits, test it on your own.

Effective daily meditation practice (20 minutes)

1 . Start just after waking up - your mind is still in post-sleep mode, so you will be able to focus on one thought easily.

2 . Sit comfortably with your spine straight, don't lie on the bed. The reason for these two principles is simple: meditation changes your brainwaves frequency and on the deep level of relaxation it's easy to fall asleep. Regarding meditation in the bed, that is not recommended, subconscious part of the brain associate this place purely with the sleep. During the meditation, it will be extremely easy to simply fall asleep.

3. First, relax the body. Before calming the mind, take care of the body. The best way is to:

First minute: Observe your body: breath, heart beat, any muscle tension etc. This is the initial part of focusing the mind.

Next couple of minutes: Focus all the attention on the different parts of the body, beginning from the feet. Focus on every part of the body for around 40-60 seconds. During that time, imagine the relaxation of the body part that you currently focusing on.

4 . Relax the mind. Now the body is fully relaxed and free from muscle tensions. Mind relaxation is simple: Imagine different natural landscapes, these could be mountains, countryside etc. Focus on details, such as the weather, colors and what is important: how would you feel in such an amazing place. By doing all that you are artificially tricking your mind that the current environment is free from any threads so the mind can fully relax from its alerted state.

5 . Personalize Your experience. Now with the mind and body fully relaxed, there are not many external signals that can influence your attention - that is why the initial relaxation process is so important! You just cut out the noise. What you do now is the personalized experience. You can focus on what you want to accomplish in life or on this particular day. That is simply your decision.

Question: Why I need to meditate if I can focus on the goals/problems/people that I love/ today's speech in front of the large audience/ date with the hot girl/ etc.anytime I want?

Let me ask you this: how many times90 you have experienced such state of mind that simply NOTHING influenced your attention so you could focus purely on one specific problem? Probably not so many. Meditate and check what the relaxed state of mind can offer. That could me new creative ideas, new ways to resolve life problem, confidence boost and others. This is like reprogramming your brain for success. In the meditative state, the mind is so affected by the thought, that it roots it deep into the subconscious - so don't think negatively!

Now, the little social proofI would like to quote Ray Dailo, the founder of $160 billion hedge-fund behemoth Bridgewater Associates:

“When I look back at my life, I am happy to have had what most people would consider a successful life, not only in terms of business, but in my relationships and in lots of ways. More than anything else, I attribute it to meditation—partially because of the creativity, partly because of the centeredness. TM(transcendental meditation) has given me an ability to put things in perspective, which has helped a lot. I think meditation has been the single biggest influence on my life.”

Stay Humble,

Kacper
